We recognise the need to share common experiences with participants. True empathy springs from this resonance. We have worked for major corporations, run our own businesses and have raised a family, bringing with us a rich source of personal learning...

JAN ATTKINS MIGGP, AOC Reg., MAR, M.Dip.H
trained as a General Nurse in Glasgow before specialising in Midwifery and Neonatal Paediatrics. She then took a post working with children with severe learning difficulties at a Special School in Hillington.

For twenty years she was a director of Flashback Communication, the family business she co-founded, and ultimately took on the roles of Senior Producer and Managing Director.

For nine years she was responsible for all broadcast television projects, totalling several thousand programmes - more than any other independent Scottish producer. These programmes tackled a diverse range of issues, from social deprivation to ethical questions.

During this time Jan completed numerous marketing and management courses, as well as pursuing her interest in psychology by studying at Glasgow University and participating in many international workshops. In 1996 she was invited to become a life member of staff for the Psychology of Vision organisation, providing in-depth personal analysis and offering support and guidance on a global scale. She has participated in high-level leadership training both internationally and in the UK.

Jan has helped devise innovative training materials and courses for clients including Glasgow City Council, Strathclyde Police and the Training Agency.

Having completed appropriate studies over many years, she is now a fully qualified Clinical Aromatherapist, Reflexologist, Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master, teaching Reiki at monthly workshops. Jan now runs her own complementary therapy clinic on the Isle of Arran.

CHRIS ATTKINS M.Dip.H
trained as a technician with the BBC, working in the film unit of BBC Scotland. He transferred to Scottish Television, in nine years progressing to senior cameraman, involved with network television drama, outside broadcasts and current affairs.

In 1980 he co-founded Flashback Communication, nurturing it from its initial £2,000 sole trader status to become Scotland's longest established independent television and video production company. Well respected in the industry, Flashback attracted many young people who cut their media teeth within the company before joining mainstream broadcasters. Chris was personal mentor to most of these individuals, encouraging them in all areas of activity from research to marketing, information technology to programme production.

He has completed many marketing and management courses and was a founder member of Glasgow University's Business Forum for owner manager development. He has devised diverse training initiatives, including interactive multimedia presentations, and has facilitated a wide range of training courses for groups as diverse as television technicians and the Scottish Police Federation.

For over twelve years Chris has studied leading edge psychology and he too is a lifetime staff member of the Psychology of Vision. He is a Motivation Method Therapist with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy.

Having participated in powerful leadership training both at home and abroad, he now supports people from all walks of life looking for direction, increased self-confidence and improved relationships through VISION unlimited, an independent partnership based on the Isle of Arran.
